My speaking partner was Ryuuhei Yonekura. He is 18 and one of his hobbies is football. The first question he asked me, after introducing himself, was if I knew Schevchenko. I really didn't expected to hear such a question. Firstly, I thought he means the writer, but then I realized that he asked me about a footballer - Andrey Schevchenko. Of course, everyone in Ukraine knows about Schevchenko, but I was pleasantly surprised that he was popular in Japan also.
By the way, I think it is so important for our country to have such well-known people like Schevchenko, brothers Klitchko and others. People all over the world learn about Ukraine through them.
So we talked about football, our favourite teams. Then about our favourite films, favourite actors, Johnny Depp :)
I like to speak with my Japanese friends and looking forward to new conversations!

That's nice of you to add your impressions of the session which was run the other day. Actually, I experienced the same fact with a Japanese who just had an intention to talk. He also mentioned Shevcheno and Klychko - popular Ukrainians around Japan. That's really good.
Now, I hope Ukraine will be popular with smart students ... ha? ;-)
